XGIMI Horizon Pro Projector launched and available to purchase
XGIMI, the brand known to manufacture the best projectors in the market has now come up with the new version of the Horizon series. With the new XGIMI Horizon Pro, the company brings the compact design projector with 4k/HDR projection. The devices attracted attention at the iF Design Awards, among others, which rewarded the XGIMI Halo of the XGIMI H2 with several awards.

Features of XGIMI Horizon Pro:
The 2200 ANSI lumens projector will help to change the new flagship model. With a little more volume (21 x 22 x 14 cm), but still compact, the model delivers a native 4K image (3840 x 2160) onto the screen using pixel shifting (XPR DLP). The image sensor has a lower resolution than the 4K UHD image. However, this is quite normal in this price range. The LED light source should offer a maximum brightness of 2,200 lumens and work for around 30,000 hours. According to XGIMI, the Horizon Pro is ready for use in just six seconds and provides a screen size of 40 to 300 inches with a projection ratio of 1.2: 1. When it comes to the supported HDR formats, XGIMI is still keeping a low profile. Likewise with the audio codecs.
AI image correction makes light switches “disappear”
An autofocus system and automatic keystone correction adapt the image to the projection surface. According to the manufacturer, an imaging system based on artificial intelligence takes care of the corrections. Disturbing objects such as light switches, house plants should disappear by adjusting the image area or should no longer influence the viewing experience so conspicuously.
The design is based on the previous models (had a maximum of 1080p), so the Horizon Pro again has a high-quality aluminium housing in mesh optics, so that the integrated 2 × 16 watt speakers from Harman / Kardon (actually quite decent for a projector) to do their job. Most users should also find their way around the Android TV 10 operating system. Access to over 5,000 apps, including popular streaming portals such as Netflix, Prime Video or Disney +, is thus secure.
The connections on the projector are all on the rear. Two HDMI inputs, a USB 2.0 and a USB 3.0 connection and an Ethernet (LAN) port are visible. There is also a dual-band WLAN and Bluetooth 4.0. The latter is used for the remote control included in the scope of delivery.
XGIMI Horizon Pro Price:
The XGIMI Horizon Pro can be pre-ordered from May 10th and costs 1,699 euros. Delivery is scheduled for the end of May. Unfortunately, we still lack too much data to estimate whether the price is appropriate for this model. The first piece of information reads quite well, but there are still several questions unanswered, e.g. about the frame rate (60Hz or 120Hz), the interfaces (HDMI 2.1?) Or the HDR standards (HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision?).
